Sorry, I'm brand new. I've searched the forums to find an answer, but it's beyond me. How do I get the first image on a scanned magazine to be the thumbnail preview? Specifically this one. Also, any other criticism of anything I'm doing wrong would be helpful.

https://archive.org/details/disneychannelmagazinemayjune1990images Not related to your question; and I do not like any of the copyright laws as they currently exist...But did you check to see if this was actually in the Public Domain. I can answer questions on this and there are also some postings on the Archive About this. My experience with Disney (and I have posted some Disney stuff only because it was pre-1989 and they messed up on the Copyright Notice) is that they are 'very' protective of their so-called intellectual property rights. In no way would I discourage anyone from posting Items to the Archive, but it is important to actually determine if the item is in the Public Domain and that is not difficult if you know where to look.

Best wishes,

Hey thanks for the response. I don’t think this is in the public domain. Honestly, this was phase one to see if I could figure out how to scan and upload something at least semi-competently. I have a few of these Disney Channel magazines lying around and thought it would be the only interesting magazine I have to upload. I think there were only two issues uploaded by someone already. I do like the collection of the Disney News magazines on here. I’d love to see a complete run of these Disney Channel magazines but I’d assume they’re copyrighted. Like you said, it’s Disney. So I don’t know where I’m going for here but thank you for your help!

Take a look at:

and collections:

https://archive.org/details/@garthus1?tab=collections

to get an idea what minimum metadata should look like; any questions my contact information is usually on my items. Almost all of these came from my collections and I scanned them. The historical stuff I also include zip files of the Hi-resolution images.

garage and estate sales, customers, eBay, and I usually purchase damaged stuff since it is cheap and I can still get a good historical record of the item. Problem is things like the ceramics collection take up a great amount of space. This is over 50 years of collecting. The poems and books and course materials I wrote them all myself.
